Balance of Twilight is a saga created by Yogendra Pai for the Empire. It is a saga for Disciples : Rise of the Elves. You can find it in the scenarios or in the sagas. This story is "copyright yogi productions 2004".

The story jumps off right where "Rites of fire" had ended! The Legions of the damned are under new leadership, and the Empire is barely hanging on! Now you have to guide the empirical forces to new sources of hope and maybe find a cure for this sickness that has plagued the sacred lands!

THE BURNING LANDS - I

The Empire must escape the burning lands or risk being annihilated...

After the Great Assault by Demonuscus, the Empire's forces were completely devastated. Unable to withstand an inner pain Demonuscus fled to the Shadowlands leaving the Legions without a ruler. Few could understand his reactions; however he had done what he intended to.

The lands now laid in ruins. Hellfire engulfed the cities and killed every living soul in sight. The few survivors of the great battle were either hunted down by the demons or died in the cataclysm. The Legions of the damned ruled the lands.

However a small band of empirical forces manage to survive. With their low supplies and tattered morales, they held onto their swords warding off any beast that intended to pounce upon them. They knew that they would not survive long enough in these lands. They had to plan their escape or die an inevitable death, defeated by the Legions of the damned.

Asmodius had managed to get a small force across the portal before Primevil's minions caught up with them. With his great blessed sword Asmodius broke the pillars of the portal, preventing the demons to move through. His great sacrifice had ensured that the empirical forces lived to see another day.

FORTRESS DOOM - II

The Empire has escaped the demonic lands but now faces greater dangers. Caught between elves and the undead, the Empire must find a way to make new allies.

The Empire barely managed to survive the wrath of the demonic forces. As they stepped out of the portal, they sensed a great peril forming over the newly arrived lands. Only the Highfather knew about the trials that awaited them!

Demonuscus led the Empire's forces to the lands of Xarg in his plan to undo the done. Who would have thought that one of their greatest foes would come to their aid. However no one knew about his true intentions or why he intended to help the empirical forces. Perhaps only time would tell!

CRASH AND BURN - III

The empirical forces try to obtain the Scroll of Power from an older dwarven ruin. However a nasty surprise awaits them.

With more questions in their mind and less patience to hear them all, the Empire maintained an uncomfortable alliance with the heretic leader Demonuscus.

The Empire had reserved their alliances with the Elves and the Undead. However their alliance was only possible due to the intervention of Demonuscus, the same person who single-handedly decimated the forces of the Empire and the Mountain Clans.

Now the decision had to be taken. Will they go ahead and accept his alliance or not. With extreme difficulty, Myzrael declared his alliance with the heretic leader. Now he awaited answers. Why? Why would the most powerful person in the world join hands with his mortal enemies?

After the acquisition of the Scroll, the forces of the Empire moved to the now desecrated lands of Allantyr, in a crusade to retake the holy lands and maintain peace in the lands once again.

TWILIGHT OF THE GODS - IV

The last battle neat the capital of Allantyr. The ritual has begun and even the gods will try to stop this ritual from taking place. Can you succeed even the odds are overwhelmingly against you?

With the magical scroll in hand, the ritual went underway. The Empire had heeded the warnings of the gods and went on with the process. Soon afterwards four rifts opened through the earth and foul beings poured out of it.

A light ray opened up from the sky and a voice said that the forces of the Empire had made a grave mistake as they tried to change the very course of nature itself. And the voice said that the empirical forces had to be punished for their misdeeds.

However the forces of good went on with the performance of the ritual knowing that even though all the other gods were against them, their god, the Highfather was with them. So, with a final prayer, the paladins took up their swords, to protect the capital until the ritual was complete.

The ritual was completed. The lands started to heal themselves as cataclysmic storms came to and end. The four rifts which has opened from the earth collapsed.

Myzrael approached the Highfather's shrine and whispered a prayer. A light shined upon his eyes and the Highfather himself talk to him. He said that he was proud to be the father of their race and would always be with them under any circumtances!

THE END

Bells rang along the street of the capital. A big misfortune had been warded off from their world. However one question remained in the minds of everyone who had faced this horrendous event.

Where was Demonuscus? The one who had started the Cataclysm of Ages and the same had helped the Empire to end it. He had disappeared into the shadow while the Empire was busy for the preparation of the ritual. Only time will tell...
