A few "RULES" to help you if want to make the best multiplayer scenarios that players will share and play online.

Send your ideas to the map makers and I will put them on the site.

CREATING FOR MULTIPLAYER

LaPuce

1. Tell us if your scenario is "multi" only or can be play on "single" :
Some scenarios are "square", I mean that each player on each site have equal design and equal resources. Those may be perfect for multiplayer but are not so much fun in single. Other scenarios are for multiplayer but with a few or major differences from the starting point. I imagine that those have better replayability because of the different challenges they offer when players are changing their race or leader. Those are usually interesting in single play too if the AI settings are high enough.

2. DO NOT make % of the land unless... :
Do not make % of the lands scenario unless your capitals are on small islands or surrender by mountains with only a few % of the land. If players capture the capitals and they are on open lands, your scenario will be spoiled. SFI resolved a part of this problem by looting the capitals but the terrain is not changing to neutral...

3. Size of the map :
Create small maps that you can finish on a single night if you are creating them for to be played online.

4. Events :
Are your events available from each starting points, are they different? Will a event created for a race be become ineffective or will be inactivate by an opponent? Do not count on a "You were not supposed to play that event, it was for the other race!". The rule is "You never know how the players will play your scenario...!"

5. Let us know that you are the author :
Put your name and email in the introduction text of your scenarios, so players will know who to write to if they have comments. Many players just download scenarios and have a hard time knowing where they got them and who made them after a while. Players will take your scenarios most seriously because they can reach you and this may keep others from using them under their name.
