CREATING A MULTIPLAYER MAP BY IRONIED

Ironied

Points to keep an eye on when creating a multiplayer map for Disciples II :

1. Set castle guardians weak so protection is important:
Lower the stats of the guard in the capital. My suggestion would be 270 hp, 25 armor and 80 damage.

2. Balance might and magic:
Try to place a sufficient number of mana-resources so there is no imbalance between Warrior-Lord and Mage-Lord.

3. Be aware of the immunities and attack sources:
When you place units on the map be aware of their attack source. I have often seen deathdragons placed near the undead hordes. This makes no sense except you want to help the undead getting more experience points, as the death dragons does death damage and the undead are immune to death.

4. Reward offensive playing:
Offensive playing like expanding, going to unknown territory by risking to loose the main army, should be rewarded. Place good items, mana-resources, towns somewhere in the middle or a place where all players almost have the same distance to get there. Don't make it too easy to get there.

5. Reward efficient playing:
Place all kind of shops on the map where you can buy strong items. Players who can handle gold with care should be rewarded.
