Strategy First Inc. offers technical support technique on his forum in the section "Custom scenarios". You can post your questions, somebody will help.

A FEW POINTS ON THE EDITOR

1. Interface :
The interface is simple. You choose an object from one of the selections and once it is on the map screen you click it to edit it.

2. Events and locations :
Events are more complicate to create but often the issue is well explained on SFI forum. Events must often be created separately for the different races. There is no "or" or "and" conditions. This means that you have to create, as an example, a winning condition for each race. Not doing this will result in the event not working.

Disable events or troops spawning once the quest is done, some scenario's creators forget to do this. Create an event that "disable another event". There is an option that "disable an event" in the editor. By example, the quest is to bring an object to a town and there are wolves stacks at the door of the city that are spawning every week. Once the quest of "bringing the object" is done, the wolves stacks should be "disable".

One of the editor's rule is the one about the "locations". It is essential to create a "location" for an event to happen. By example, bringing an object to a town is not enough, a "define space" has to be create at the door of the town by using the functions "location" in the editor. The location must not be larger than the space needed for the quest. Larger location can result in the event happening at each movement in the define space. If you need 3 x 3, do not use 5 x 5 because you are afraid that the player will miss it. By example, if a leader can heal in a location, if the location is on 3 leader's movements, he will heal 3 times.

3. Stacks and races :
To create "stacks" and "races", you have to create "preset parties" and link them to a race, a neutral race or create a new race. Creating "parties" or "stacks" that you can "respawn" in popular in DDP. Follow the simple rule of moderation : "To many, to often, to many of the same parties to often, will make the player run away to another scenario !" Putting space between the parties is essential, the player need to be able to turn around and move. Beware of the traps that are involuntary created using "respawning.

4. Special items :
If the scenario has an item that is selected in the "special items", you will see it during the creation of events. The items are doragon eye, broken key, etc." You can not choose other items because you can sell them or used them so you won't be able to activate the event. You have to put the "special item" somewhere on the map so it can be "own" in your scenario.

5. Spells :
The spells that are affecting the whole map were can not be used when creating an event.

6. Sagas and campaigns :
For those who had asked how to create a saga : create your scenarios first in the scenario's editor, open the saga's editor, import the scenarios and save. After that you will be able to edit the scenarios directly into the saga's editor, not before that.
