A FEW NEW POINTS ON THE EDITOR

1. General and new features :
See the section on the original editor for Disciples, the expansions use the same editor plus new features. You get here only the new features.

2. RMG : Random map generator :
This feature is available only with the expansions : Guardians of Light and Servants of the Dark and Rise of the Elves. RMG will only edit the land and the units, you have to rework the map in the editor and add the events. RMG

3. Variables :
Since it is to complicate for me, Hellbent explained this new function on SFI forum :
"Adds a lot more freedom for designers to keep track of things on the map and cause complex events.
Example you create a variable call "PlayerGood" to detect whether or not the player is doing well in a map and up the challenge for him.
So, to start, you've set "PlayerGood" to 0
PlayerGood=0
Now, you have several ways to detect if the player is doing well.
One event says "Elves own 45% of the land" "Add one to variable "Playergood."
So now, PlayerGood=1
You could also put in "City Toughcity entered by Elves" "Add one to variable "Playergood."
When the player owns 45% of the land and owns the city Toughcity,
Playergood=2
Last condition to see how the player is doing could be killing a specific enemy leader. "Toughguy is killed by Elves" "Add one to variable Playergood."
So finally "Playergood"=3
To make sure all of these things are completed before your bonus event for good players, you need an event that will detect it.
Variable "PlayerGood" = 3, "Create stack "Bonusstack" at location "CreateBonusStack."
Of course you can do much more complex things by using more advanced math functions available to change the variables, or by comparing ranges of variables.
In the skirmish map "Flight," you'll notice the AI player actually seems to know what he needs to do to win with each race. It's not flawless, but it does work. The computer controlled player will check variables to see which parts of its objective it has accomplished and move on to the next one. We didn't have a whole lot of time to play with this new tool, but we're eager to see what kind of insanity custom map makers can come up with."

4. "If" and "If not"
The "if"s and "if not"s are to be tested, so the players can to follow the events correctly.

5. Sounds
It is easier to add sounds and music (mp3). The sounds are to be added in the "SoundsP" folder for the players and the mapmaker has to send them with his scenario with instructions on how and where to put them. Don't forget the "how.txt" file.
