THE SEARCH FOR TIMMORIA - I
Mortis, the goddess of the Undead Hordes, awaited the return of her husband, Gallean. Many centuries had passed since Gallean was murdered by the Dwarven god... his body was so horribly mutilated that his regeneration could take an eternity.
Glaring into the souls of the living, she saw the existence of a being named Uther. He served has the receptacle for Bethrezen's soul and was trapped in the ancient Mountain Clan mine of Timmoria. His unholy blood could bring Gallean back to life.
The location of the mine of Timmoria was hidden to all, but would surely be in an Empire library. The Undead were called upon once again, and rose to carry out the evil bidding of the fleshless Goddess : to locate the forsaken Timmoria mines.
When the Hordes discovered the location of the mines, they also learned that the ritual to reseal the gate was to be perform in three days. If successfully accomplished, the ceremony would produce a seal that would trap Uther in his stone dungeon for a century.
UTHER'S BLOOD - II
The ancient maps of Timmoria's location acquired, Mortis recalled her undead servants from their eternal silence. And from the catacombs, her lifeless and rotten minions rose and walked anew.
Their foul stench could be detected leagues before they arrived at the abandoned mine of Timmoria. The decaying army had very little time to execute Uther before he fled. He was to be freed by the Legions of the Damned, who had returned to deliver their forsaken God.
Uther had been liberated for only a heartbeat when the decaying army fell upon him. The Goddess commanded her forces to drain the divine blood of the child...
With Uther slain, the Undead Hordes now possessed the divine blood that could bring Gallean back to life. Preparation for the ritual could begin...
Mortis would once again reign over the Elder race with her divine consort Gallean.
THE COUNCIL - III
While the fleshless goddess and her death apostles were battling Uther, the Empire sent an emissary to the Mountain Clans, requesting an audience. The Clans asked Slookarijj Blackstone, member of the high council and leader of the Blackstone clan, to meet with Empire representatives.
Such a meeting would surely result in a durable alliance between the two factions. Mortis was resolute ; any threat to her plans had to be crushed... She had sacrificed so much in the hope of reviving her divine husband.
It was crucial for Mortis to intercept Slookarijj and his army before they reached the Empire, for their combined armies would be to strong to oppose. The lifeless regiment marched on, advancing to greet Slookarijj for an audience of their own : an audience with Mortis.
Slookarijj and his advisors were slaughtered by Mortis' minions and their rotting cadavers joined the cold troops of the accursed goddess, ruining their chances of reaching an alliance.
RETALIATION - IV
Mortis had destroyed Slookarijj Blackstone, in the hope of preventing an alliance between the Empire and the Mountain Clans. Her actions had disastrous consequences... for when the Empire heard of Blackstone's death, they retaliated. The Undead were called upon once again, and rose to carry out the evil bidding of the fleshless Goddess : to locate the forsaken Timmoria mines.
The virtuous army made an attack upon the Undead Hordes; this assault was to be the ultimate challenge yet faced by the soulless troops. To defeat the Empire's armies, Mortis had to annex a strategically placed city named Hunneria. Control of this city would be the last obstacle between Mortis and her ultimate goal.
The fleshless minions marched towards Hunneria, Mortis determined that nothing would thwart her this time. The separation from her husband Gallean grieved her more with each passing day...
Ending the Empire's threat, Mortis ordered the hordes to find the location where Gallean could be revived. Only sacred land could revive a god, and the Elven territory concealed such a magnificent garden.
THE ACCURSED ARMOR - V
During the soulless search for the elven sacred land, an Undead, spellbound by a suit of enchanted armor, broke free of Mortis' grap. The bone armor demanded fresh blood every day ; in return, it would grant its wearer, now the rebel Bone Lord, great powers and eternal life.
The armor was created by a powerful necromancer during the first Great Wars, but was lost during the assault on Sturmir Thunderhammer's Keep. The power of the armor has grown such, that it possessed a will of its own.
The accursed goddess had to stop the demented Bone lord for the armor was gaining the ability to control other Undead creatures, thus threatening her absolute rule.
The Bone Lord vanquished, the armor once again became faithful to Mortis. A new servant of the hideous goddess wore it for her glory.
She ordered all to carry on the search for the sacred elven lands, where she could at last revive her beloved Gallean.
PHANTOM BEASTS - VI
The blood of Uther recovered, the ritual to revive Mortis' husband, Gallean, could begin. For the rite to be successful, it had to be enacted on sacred lands deep in the elven territory. Thus challenged, the marching dead departed on their journey to the site. Alas, the only passage to the sacred land was through the Mountain Clan territory.
Stories of man-eating beasts and terrible creatures swirled about the Devil Mountains. The elders had long told of fiends inhabiting those dreadful heights, though no man had ventured through the mountains and lived to confirm their tales.
But the Undead Hordes were as no man, and marched heartlessly towards the Elven Lands.
Finally, the Hordes reached the Elven Lands. The luxuriant forests bloomed with fresh life. It was obvious that these lands had never suffered war until now...
Ahead, the soulless troops could see the Elder race waiting for them...
TALADRIELLE THE SORCERESS - VII
When the fleshless Hordes reached Elven territory, an army awaited them. High Elf prophets had foreseen the arrival of the accursed, and advised Queen Taladrielle to prepare for an attack...
The entire elder nation has assembled for the upcoming conflict. Nothing profane will enter the sacred burial grounds of the ancient without a fight.
Elves were not know for their ability to wage war, but their great agility and terrible magic made them fierce adversaries.
The walking dead defeated Taladrielle the Elven Queen, and the ritual to revive Gallean could finally begin. The hideous troops were to witness the rebirth of Mortis' fallen consort.
The sun rose at nights, and from it, scallion was reborn. From the infinite, scallions had gazed long at these lands, helplessly contemplating the chaos and evil Mortis had unleashed.
The elder god hated Mortis with disdain, and then disappeared, unable to forgive her the terror she had sought in the world and in the hearts of his own children.
Mortis' rage grew when her ungrateful mate vanished and rejected her eternal love. She could not comprehend how he could abandon her again. She could not see what she had become.
