THE BROKEN SEAL - I

Wise are the men who carefully plan their assaults... the Legions of the Damned needed no such wisdom; they do not know pain as humans do. A beast who has suffered millennia of pain pays no mind to the slash of a mere sword.

When Bethrezen was imprisoned by the Mountain Clans a decade ago, the Legions feared their doom was near. Left without the protection of a leader, they scattered, fleeing terrible reprisals and brutal inquisitions. The Legions awaited the waning of the runic seal's power - the seal that would hold Bethrezen captive for a decade.

A decade passed... the Legions looked on as a dwarf crossed the lands across Bethrezen's mountain dungeon. This was no ordinary Dwarf, he was the king's son, Gymner Cloudkeeper, sent to enact rites that would strengthen the runic bonds that imprisoned Bethrezen. There were rumor that the Mountain Clans had discovered powers, that this time, would seal the gate for a century. If Gymner were to be kill before the ritual could be performed, the Legions could liberate their god...

BETHREZEN'S RETREAT - II

The Legions realized that the child who had come forth instead of their beloved Bethrezen was the Empire's sole heir, a boy named Uther. A decade ago, the forsaken god has chosen this being has the receptacle for his soul spirit. When the infant emerged from the infernal rift, trees bled and the soil rotted beneath his feet. As the child glared deeply into their cursed souls, all demons present knew that this was Bethrezen.

None understood why this was, but there was no time for questions. Undead Hordes were attacking; the stench of dead covered the plains. The Legions had to secure Bethrezen, for it was clear enough that the Undead Hordes has no good intentions.

The only course of action for the Legions of the damned lay north, to gather up their scattered forces.

With Gymner killed, the Legions of the Damned hoped to see their god Bethrezen emerged in all his terrible glory but out off the mountain dungeon a little boy came forth, a child dressed in rags a little over twelve years of age; all wondered how this could be.

Bethrezen and the Legions barely escaped the vicious attack the walking dead. It was time to rebuild an empire, but Bethrezen, weak and trapped in this infant's body would certainly not pass unnoticed by the enemies of the Legions.

THE DARK ALLIANCE - III

During the First Great Wars, an ambitious and treacherous aristocrat named Bernard of Cahuzak rebelled against the Empire to improve his fate. His dark plan failed, and he was immediately slain for his treachery. His nephew, Hubert the Lalye, inherited not only his material possessions, but also his infinitely dark and intangible soul.

Corruption throughout the empire protected the likes of Hubert the Lalye, even allowing such being to be influential in the realm. Hubert's evil ways would have made any demon proud; his depravity and cruelty were unequaled. Many young peasants were abducted and served as playthings for his horrendous banquets.

For Bethrezen's rebirth, the Legions had to collaborate with the perfidious the Lalye. Their forces had been weakened during the last decade, but the return of the kingdom's heir would surely result in many allies...

Hubert de Lalye accepted the unholy alliance that would lead the Legions to a new reign. He embraced the Legions' presence as its served his ambitious nature and further darkened his damned soul. He eagerly agreed to create chaos in the Empire and try to capture the throne.

THE SALTY DUNGEON - IV

Centuries ago, the Clans imprisoned a demon lord named Asteroth. They lured the mighty fiend into a hollow mountain, block the entrance, and then filled it with sea water, leaving the devil imprisoned in his salty dungeon.

Asteroth toiled. For centuries, he dug through subterranean rock, knowing deliverance would eventually come. Tales of an enchanted passageway has passed through the lands for decades. The Clans sought to find and destroy the runic key that could liberate him.

Bethrezen send forth packs of demonic beasts to retrieve this Dwarven key , for the deliverance of Asteroth would prove to be of vital importance. Such an ally could only bring glory to the Legions.

With Asteroth joining his ranks, Bethrezen had assembled enough forces to crush the Empire. The unholy one let his demonic armies to the Empire's territory to put an end to their futile resistance.

DARKNESS AND LIGHT - V

After many unsuccessful battles, the Mountain Clans and the Empire united, as they had during the First Great Wars, this time to tame the demonic legions. The day in which the army of light would confront the cohorts of chaos grew near.

To ensure victory over the allies forces, Bethrezen saw that the northern frontier had to be strengthened. He needed to conquer at least three cities to maintain a presence in these lands. These cities secured, Bethrezen could finally complete the ritual that would grant him his full power and his transcendent form...

The unholy prepared for battle, sending his mighty cohorts and his dark servant Asteroth Northwards.

The northern regions were taken by Bethrezen's armies. Scouts returned from battle with report of an Undead army amassing in the east. Inflamed by the triumph against the allies, the Legions' armies rushed to invade the territory of the Undead Hordes.

THE AMBUSH - VI

To the East, a massive army of living dead had gathered. They sought the demon child for an obscure purpose. Large numbers of stumbling corpses were raised from their eternal rest, these fouls husks kept watch over the fields and forests, killing all who wore foolish enough to approach...

An ambush was prepared to eradicate the menace. Bethrezen intended to lure the Hordes into a narrow pass through the mountains of Lorrimik, were the combined forces of Asteroth and the Legions will wait.

Bethrezen seemed pleased as he led his troops towards the destined conflict. Setting the land ablaze in his path, he seemed invincible...

Uther's betrayal would not go unpunished. His acts confirmed that the rites performed the decade ago had been at least partially successful. A part of Bethrezen's soul was housed in Uther's body. No mere boy could display such cunning without infernal inspiration. It explained many things.

THE PRINCE OF HELL - VII

The demon priests shared an ominous dream... Bethrezen was ailing. Uther was slowly draining his essence, and their unholy lord would surely die if Uther lived much longer. The remaining Legions assembled in an attempt to destroy the awaking god.

Uther has taken over part of the Empire and still controlled many cohorts of demons. A desperate battle loomed in the horizon, for the Legions still loyal to Bethrezen seemed insufficient to battle their foe.

Asteroth stood alongside the newly born demon, ready to champion Uther, the next ruler of hell.

The desperate battle to save Bethrezen was finally won. Without a ruler to guide them, the demonic Legions will lurk in the shadows, praying upon the virtuous, awaiting the return of their evil deity.

THE END

In an unusual way, the struggle between the vile armies of Bethrezen and Uther kept many innocents out of its way; the wars focused evils against evils. Serving to side tracks the Legions' forces, the infernal cohorts did not envisioned that the rebirth of Bethrezen would be delayed by these attacks, nonetheless, knew that Bethrezen's rebirth would come in time, and time was not a concern for these devils who dwelled in a void of timeless obscurity.
