IMMUNITIES AND WARDS IN D1 and D2
A few units and units are immune to a certain type of attack and/or a certain type of magic. Some others are only ward against the first attack against a certain type of attack and/or magic.
IMMUNE means "full protection" and "WARD" means "protection against the first attack".
IMMUNE means "no way out of it" often in Disciples. You will not be able to win a battle if your opponent and you are both immune to the same type of attack... that is actually the type of attack of both opponents. Two death dragons will never kill a death dragon!!!
WARD means "getting the chance to survive the first attack" and win the battle.
IMMUNE means "a werewolf" killing Asteroth.
Spells, potions, magic books will immune or ward your troops against these types of attacks. In Sacred Lands, the magic books used to protect your troops on open lands, in Dark Prophecy, only the leader is protected.
Protection, ward, knowledge of the type of immunity an unit has are an, if not, the important part of your strategy in Disciples. A few spells doing 250 damage of fire against a wandering leader with no immunity means death, one moment your troops are there, the moment later, they are gone... forever.... will never come back.... gone in smoke...
