Disciples 1 : Sacred Lands (1999) is the first of the Disciples World. The graphics made the game famous and made it for the difficulty of the gameplay. A few players became fans and learned to live with the long range spells and began to develop personal tricks to get past the AI. The original edition of DSL disappears from the market and only a few fans still owns it.

Disciples I : Sacred Lands - Gold Edition (2000!) was the better original DSL with the original sagas. It came with twenty-one (21) additional scenarios created by Strategy First Inc. on the theme "Divine Empire". Eighteen (18) of these scenarios were new. We also find the old scenarios. This edition was made for multiplayer but DSL Gold was mostly played by single players. Once in a while, you can see of box of DSL Gold Edition in sale in the back of a store. Grab it! If you did not play the Sacred Lands, you are missing the real background and the beginning of the adventure. Strategy First Inc. created a world during those years, the World of Disciples that became a World for the fans. The World of Disciples grabbed their imagination and they started asking for more, freely expressing their ideas and their opinions.

Fifteen printable cards of the leaders and units of Disciples : Sacred Lands were available through a collector's contest. Fans were getting the cards on specific days and at the end those who had all the cards where getting through a little program made by SFI a picture of a heroin... It was for fun and fun! Between (2000!) The Sacred Lands and The Dark Prophecy, there has been a beta version of Disciples that had been abandoned by SFI. But there are pictures and screenshots from this version still available on the Net. Whenever you find a picture and you do not find it in the game, it is probably one from this period. Once again, game available or not, Disciples was praised for the beauty of its artwork and its design.
